3600 kms on namma bengaluru road.

Bajaj Discover - 125cc
Hello everyone, I'm Discover -125. An ordinary member of the distinctly ahead Bajaj family. A shy, innocent, sweet cousin of the mighty Pulsar and Avenger bikes ! I got a life at the Popular Bajaj showroom near Yediyur, where I spent my days along with my fellow mates: Discover - 100 and Discover - 150 !!

when I reached 100km after 3 days

All was well and happy until a person came over to our showroom and showed interest in buying me. He took me for some 57000 bucks. I rolled out my showroom for the first time on the Hindu New Year day - the auspicious Ugadi festival ! Ever since, my bonding with my rider, a certain engineer, has been growing good to better to best !

He knew nothing about riding a bike ! I fell off the very first day of my new life. Thankfully, that has been the last one ever since !

I have so many many memories to share with you all. The worst among them was when a friend of my owner  almost hit an Activa, on the first day he took me to his college !
stop while coming back from Royal Meenakshi mall.
Almost every day, we drove together, through - the silicon garden city ! The Mysore road highway, Corporation bank circle, Electronic city flyover, Rajajinagar main road, BG traffic, MG road parking lot, Bangalore palace... so many many wonderful places.. !

I was not allowed to cross 40 till the first service. But even after that my owner didn't take me beyond 40..  !

After 5 months and 3600km of travel, I can now trust his driving skills ! We drive together, safely down the road. We speed occasionally, and only if necessary. Its important to keep calm while riding.

We rode almost 1500 km during his holidays. That was when I saw the most horrific part of Bangalore traffic ! Sirsi circle flyover to Nayandhalli is  the WORST ! Avenue road is the mother of traffic congestion.

My owner is goddamn poor in locating places ! He wouldn't dare cross ring road without a GPS and that's where his Nokia comes to use. But even then, the GPS suggestions are horrible and once we were almost lost, despite the technology, somewhere in the crowded streets of chikpet, while coming back from palace grounds !

I had to wear a big 'L' board for over 2000km until he passed his DL test.

Talking about the city, I feel its a wonderful place, with major traffic problems. The problem is more with the people who drive crazy (not to mention Autorickshaws). Traffic system is pretty good here, but people just wont follow them...

Jayanagar is my favorite place to ride (for no clear reason, my owner too likes that place ! ) Getting myself parked in this city is a BIG problem ! Once we had to search almost the entire MG road for a suitable parking space !

HSR layout flyover was the first time ever, we crossed 60 speed limit ! But the record for the maximum speed of 80 holds is in the outer ring road near Vijaynagar, and the stretch is AMA.ZING ! That stretch still remains to be our best place to speed !

Banshankri and Basvangudi are the most common places we visit. We saw the most of the city during the 10 day Indo-German mela held at palace grounds ! Those 10 days were memorable, as every alternate day we had to travel back in the night !

Only once have we drove during the midnight ! We left his college at 11.30 one day, and reached home at around 12.15 ! My owner was shit-scared that night as he had lost my Registration Certificate and cops could catch him anytime ! He would slow down every time he saw a cop. I need not fear a drunken driving experience as my owner does't booze. Though his speed makes me bored, I feel rather secure when he's driving...

Oh well... that was a short story of my life in this big city. Had a nice time with him... He usually says - After dogs, bikes are a man's best friend ! A man spends most of his awesome time with his bike and can he imagine a world without his bike - N.EVER !
There's a very special attachment we two wheeler's have with men. Though they wont cry when we split, they still hide a very deep pain of having lost a true friend !
That's a different friendship !

Oh well ! Objects in the mirror, are closer than they appear ! ME+NOKIA+DISCOVER !
Alll righty..
3...2....1.... !

L'Europe ! Voici que je viens... Europe ! Here I come...

A month before my exams was it decided, we're heading Europe for holidays this time ! A year long idea of a foreign tour finally coming to reality ! A wonderful chance to visit lot new places, meet lot more people !

It's a tradition in RBI to give travel allowance to its employees, annually. So most our expenditure will be covered by the public money !

The discussion was settled, Europe it was ! Travel package from Thomas cook. 9 days, 5 different awesomeness - Swiss alps, French literature, German technology, Belgian ice cream and a kiss of middle east at Muskat !

Have to search for clothes which are worth wearing in a foreign soil, pack 'em up - get, set n fly !!

60 hours from this moment, I would find myself among the clouds ! Time's flying faster than ever before.. ! Looking forward to my 3AM wake up call on Friday !

Daddy dear ! Mummy sweet !!  - I never can guess where I would be without you ... ! But with you I would find myself in nature's most exotic locations ever !! Twenty years of marriage have bought you both in a position to take your children on a foreign tour ... Thanks for all you've given me !! :) :) love u loads !!

Dear friends, Facebook friends, Cousin specials, Uncles & Aunties - Thanks for the wishes ! We're eager to share our experience with you all !!

Vous avez toujours
Always yours,
Aloki !!

life here at rvce...

somewhere in the month of july last year, IIT-M website apologised me saying:
" Sorry, your name doesn't appear in the rank list", when I entered my registration number of JEE - 2011.

My search for NITK seat lasted till august, which again was elusive.

The dissapointment, frustration of not getting a seat 'atleast' in NITK soon died in the month of september... ! I stepped into the 'top' college of karnatka and soon joined that elite group who were probably the last batch of students to be chucked out of an IIT, or an NIT... ! For us, IIT is a mirage, like the golden deer in Ramayana, Mareechike !
.
.
.

On the day of orientation, the chief guest was supposed to make us beleive that having lost an IIT seat shouldnt dissapoint us and that in some issues, RV stands better than most of the IIT's... He was an ex-IITian himself. For the first time, I was proud of my CET rank !! I belived that there was absolutely no difference between an IIT seat and a seat here at RV....

It took a 8th mile (RV fest) and a Saarang (IITM fest) to prove I was wrong ! Sample this:

On the day of our HSS interview (Extra curricular grades), for showing the certificates of organising and participating in the Techno-cultural Extravaganza, 8th mile, many of my friends were pissed off for getting only 'E' grade. Whereas for just showing the entry ticket for Saarang, a friend of mine got away with a 'B' grade... ! Seriously, B grade is something which u cant expect everyone to get !

RV boys boast of having 40GB, whereas IITM boys have 14TB .
(14 TB of what ?? )
well... err... I cant say that !! :'>

Well, so this is a short introduction to my life at RV... 3 more weeks, and its an end to my first year.

Dumb, Idiotic, Stupid, and totally useless friends.

Not everyone gets these kind of buddy's ! From eating lunch, staring at cute girls (rare to find though), to fighting for 2 rs change in the canteen - we do it all, together ! ASN, PS, AVK, PJ, MR, PG, KR, ASK... etc  (kill me if I've missed out anyone... !)

One probably will marry an RTR someday, another has vowed never to show interest in shaving. One shares my name, another shares common thoughts with me.. ! One will go on to become that nerd in The Big Bang theory (Sheldon is his name, I guess..) another will finally get 10K views for his blog ! One likes photography, another adventure while one more is so ever confused yet so sweet frnd !! ! I've all sorts in my class ! :) :)

Monotonous, Irritating, Boring,...

Lecturers, yeah.... However - as an oasis in desert - we do have some great teachers who doesnt mess up with our attendance, or throw us our for sleeping. That's the least what we expect from our teachers these days... I've got more scoldings in these two sem than my whole school and PU life put together... ! I'm not proud of it. But seriously, it's impossible to impress or atlest avoid scoldings here. Cant explain how. In PU it was different, we knew teachers closely. But its hard to find such people here...
Academic schedule looks so packed up that teachers are in a hurry to finish up the portions left, unlike in PU where we take one year to study the same 6 subjects...

Living as a team...

This is one important change in me, I feel. I'm now learning to be a part of a team. Thanks to NCC and Project Vyoma for that. Its not that I'm the most important part of the team, there are many who have worked hard for the team. Helping those ppl itself motivates you to do something for the team...
As my brother had said before, till 10+2, its all individual excellence, after that its all about how well you are in a team. Very true !
In our coll, getting a 9ptr is not at all difficult. In Engineering, anythin above 80% is reallly good...

Win or loss, its the team's effort that counts... You may have to give some little extra work and time, but when u need help, the whole team is there behind you ! That's the time when u realise the value of teamwork. Working together for a common goal, is so very special !

A dear frnd of mine SVM (IITM, only IITian I know !) and me have been a team of two... ! As a team, we have done so many things ! won few, lost few !! If am writing anything about team n teamwork, it's all what we've learnt as a team ! :) :)

Brahmachaari life...

no comments ;) !! just waiting for that special someone to fall straight from heaven and land in my arms ! :) :) My pillion is waiting................

That's not it about RVCE ... ! It's just my mind stopped thinking any further ! Maybe I'll write a blog, 'what not to do at RVCE, nine point somone', in future !! :D :D unfortunately, haven't met any of my prof's daughter !! ;) he he !!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Thank you all...
Wishing myself the best of luck for the SEE !
